June 1-11, 2012 One Week to Go…

     One week from today, next Monday, we take off for Oregon. We will actually be doing a bit of time traveling as we arrive in Oregon a couple of hours before we are scheduled to take off from Kwajalein and due to the time difference, and the fact that we will not be making any overnight or other lengthy stops along the way, we arrive there before we left. Freaky, huh?!?!  So, now it’s down to the wire, and it’s one of the busiest weeks at work for the entire year so far, even though it was supposed to be slowing down with the onset of summer. I am so ready for this vacation!! Getting through this week successfully and being prepared to leave with all my work and personal affairs in order is my only goal right now. There is so much still to do once we arrive in Oregon and begin preparing for our upcoming marriage, but for now, all that matters is today.  One day, one step, one decision and preparation for the future at a time, and we’ll get there eventually.  Life often moves slower or faster than we want it to, but it is always perfect timing for God.  It’s really just a matter of whether or not we can be patient and stay calm enough to accept that His timing is not usually the same as ours, but it is focused on what’s best for us.  That being said, I know the week will go by in a flash and before we know it, we’ll be with our precious family back in the states!
