The past couple of days have been filled with making important wedding day decisions and purchases. My fiancé knew what suit he wanted to purchase as he had already researched it online, but finding it, at first, turned out to be harder than we expected. The first day there was not one store in the malls we went to which carried the Hugo Boss suit he had decided upon before arriving in Oregon. So, yesterday, we hit the capital city of Salem and finally found the suit in Nordstrom’s. From there, everything absolutely fell into place with sizes, which were actually in stock and minimal alterations needed. We had to leave it there to have the alterations taken care of, but the shoes were easily found and purchased, and most important, my fiancé was more than happy with what he had picked online once he tried it on in the store.
Next, we headed to the jewelry shop where my engagement ring was purchased, and I was honored to meet the warm and very knowledgeable saleswoman who assisted my sweetheart in purchasing my first two rings for my birthday and engagement just 4 months ago. Once again, the decision fell into place with 2 slim diamond bands to go on either side of my engagement ring when the time comes, and a handsome and smooth Tungsten style band for my soon to be better half which has a lifetime guarantee for replacement and in addition, will not scratch. Very happy with our purchases, we headed back home, saving the flower, rental equipment, and catering decisions for another day, maybe tomorrow. J Last night finished with a “muy bien” dinner at the newly renovated Ixtapa Mexican restaurant, always a treat for us, living on an island where restaurants are in very short supply.

I love your daily posts, and am so excited for you and your fiancee! I hope you don't feel strange that someone you don't know from across the globe is following your life. I love your blog posts.
My family and I feel like God has been leading us to Kwaj for the past year, but we can't seem to find a way to get there. My hubby found out he didn't get the job he applied for only b/c he needed an accompanied position. Now, that same one is posted the KRS website, along with a teaching job (which I would LOVE to have). Yet, neither allow us to bring our family. So close - 2 jobs at once on the site that we would love to do - and yet, still can't get there.
Your posts are a fun way for us to stay connected to the tiny island and its people that God has put on our hearts. I especially can relate to your position as a mother of young children and an educator, so they're very fun to read. If I can't move there, at least I can pray for you all!
Keep blogging! Hope you don't mind strangers living vicarious adventures through your posts. :)
Have fun planning your wedding.

I don't mind you following my blog at all! I feel honored that anyone outside of my immediate family would even be interested in my life. Thank you for taking the time to comment. I follow your blog as well, in case you didn't know already. :) And it's fun to see how people in the states with similar beliefs, lives, and interests are living because it's been quite some time since I have lived there. Yes, Kwaj is very hard to come to with a family right now. It took me three years to obtain a job which would allow me to have a home for my boys to stay with me in because of the restrictions right now on providing for accompanied status jobs, and I was already living there! Unfortunately, the island is shrinking due to budget cuts, so more and more jobs are being recruited as unaccompanied only, but if that's where God wants you, he will take you there some day. It may just be on His timing and not ours! :)
Gee - I didn't realize people were following my blog. Better get to work and actually write something. I don't know how you're so consistent about writing! :)
Thanks for the encouraging words. We'll be patient and see what God has for us and if we ever make it to Kwaj.
In the meantime, I'm looking forward to seeing all the excitement that comes with planning a wedding. May the hours be long and the days be short.
