After almost 15 years living on this tiny rock in the middle of the Pacific, I still get “rock fever” at least once a year. Rock fever is when you just need a break and a small stint in what we call, “the real world” full of restaurants, malls, movie theaters, people you don’t know and people you know better than anyone (meaning family) to put you back into perspective. Unfortunately, this year, my break is still a few months away. We are not taking a mid year trip this time as we will be gone over a month this summer, and we have wedding and other expenses that we’d like to save money for instead of spending it before we even get there. So, I’ll have to find a way to try and not think about the time away and enjoy the time I have today, which is sometimes easier said than done once rock fever has taken hold. J
