January 11: Writing Prompt #11-This is your life

If you could read a book containing all that has happened and will ever happen in your life, would you? If you choose to read it, you must read it cover to cover.
     No.  I wouldn’t read it because then it would be too easy to be lazy and “wait” for the big successes in my life, and it would be too depressing when anticipating the most tragic times that are coming.  I know, for a fact, it would be too much for me. I wouldn’t be able to not think forward about what is to come and that would change how I live. I would rather be fully present in each day, finding contentment in what is now rather than in what is to come. 

“I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:11-13
