February 14: Writing Prompt #45-Cupid’s Arrow

It’s Valentine’s Day, so write an ode to someone or something you love. Bonus points for poetry!
Ode to Chocolate
Oh, Chocolate, how I love your rich, brown color and your creamy texture.
I adore the way you make me feel at the beginning, middle, or end of a long day.
You are so sweet and play well with all your pals, including peanut butter, almond, caramel, coconut, and even bacon!
Oh, how I love your dark and lighter sides, your crunchy and smooth sides.
I adore your versatility and envy your unequivocal style.
You are so adaptable, making yourself equally at home being passed around at a lively party or sitting quietly in an office desk drawer at work.
Oh, Chocolate, how I love to keep you in a jar on top of my refrigerator and hand you out to friends simply because I know they love you too and will appreciate you as much as I do.
I adore how you accessorize yourself with beautiful colored foils that make me want to rescue you from the shelf and take you home.
You are so much more than a simple candy. You are top of the line, bringing joy to so many with your glorious flavors melting in our mouths.  Don’t ever leave us, Chocolate, for we do not know how we would live without you!
