March 18: Writing Prompt #77-Impossible

“Why, sometimes I’ve believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast.” – the White Queen, Alice in Wonderland.

What are the six impossible things you believe in? (If you can only manage one or two, that’s also okay.)

I think that IMPOSSIBLE like BEAUTY is in the eye of the beholder.  Who is to say what is impossible and what is not? Many have proved over the centuries and decades that what some deemed impossible was possible, and for me, my upbringing and experiences with faith have shaped my beliefs that nothing is impossible, not really, but only if you have the faith and determination to make the impossible possible.

Six impossible things I believe in…well there’s WAY more than 6 impossible things in God’s Word that I could list, but here’s the first 6 that come to mind for me:

1. I believe in God and that He had a human son named Jesus who walked on the earth and on water.

2. I believe that Jesus brought Lazarus back from the dead and that he healed numerous others in person and still today from Heaven through miracles that no doctor can explain.

3. I believe that God gave Moses the power to part the water of the Red Sea and allow thousands of his people to cross to safety before allowing it to close back on the Egyptians chasing them.

4. I believe that God spoke to Moses in the Burning Bush and that he still speaks to us today, although it is often in quieter, less dramatic ways.

5. I believe that God told Noah to build an Ark and gave him the exact specifications on how to do it and I believe that He had him gather animals two by two to save when He sent the flood to wipe out the earth. I also believe he promised never to flood the earth like that again, and He never will.  (The proof is in the rainbows we see regularly, especially in particularly rainy places like WA State!)

6. I believe that God has spoken to me, has saved countless souls (including mine), sent His son to die on the cross for our sins then raised Him from the dead, and He cares about ALL the details in our lives (even the smallest ones) and in addition to all that, all He asks of us is to believe and do our best to love and follow Him.  And to me, THIS IS THE IMPOSSIBLE IN ACTION!

Do you believe in the impossible?
