September 13: Writing Prompt #256-Snark Bombs, Away!

Try your hand at parody or satire — take an article, film, blog post, or song you find misguided, and use humor to show us how.

So, here’s where I admit one of my many writing shortcomings. I don’t think I have ever written a satirical piece of anything, not even for any of my literature classes in college. I looked up the definition of satire and parody and even examples of satirical writing and poetry, but I am at a loss on this one because of my extreme lack of experience with this one.  Sorry…but I don’t even know where to start. And instead of exposing you to a very bad piece of satirical writing, I’m going to take the coward’s way out and pass on this one.  You wouldn’t want to read it anyway. J  If you have experience at this type of writing and would like to show me how it’s done, I’m ready to learn and would seriously welcome your instruction.  Maybe I should take a class on it….something to add to the bucket list…take a class on satirical writing. If I ever get around to that, I’ll come back and post the product of that class here. Promise!
