Tell us about something you think is
terribly unfair — and explain how you would rectify it.
I think it’s
not fair when the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. I cannot stand to
see people, especially children, living in poverty and hunger while the
Kardashians are making even more money to waste on their TV shows and photo
shoots for tabloids, and Trump is attempting to run for President instead of
using all his millions to feed the world.
How would I
rectify it? For starters, I would require, by law, that anyone who makes more
than a certain amount of money has to pay a “poverty tax.” This poverty tax would go directly to feeding
starving children in the U.S. and the world.
Next, I would require, again by law, that all people or families who
make more than a certain amount serve their community with the non-profit
organization of their choice, a specific number of hours a month. Those who
cannot or are not willing to do so, will have to pay extra taxes each year,
called a “community service” tax. I know
it would never work in America because somehow I would be infringing on
everyone’s constitution rights to freedom, but it sure does make me sad to know
that there are so many in the world with so much unwilling to share it with
others in a big, big, meaningful way.
Spread the wealth, I say and let’s make sure no one has to go
hungry or live in poverty.
