Tell us about a sensation — a taste, a
smell, a piece of music — that transports you back to childhood.
So, this
would be pretty much any 80’s to early 90’s song. If it’s Madonna, it transports me back to the
makeshift tent I put up in the upstairs bonus room of our house where I spent
many a weekend or the talent show at elementary school where I choreographed a
dance to “Like a Virgin,” wearing multiple bracelets up and down my arms just
like her. If it’s the Pretty in Pink
soundtrack or specifically the, “Wouldn’t it be Good to be in Your Shoes” song,
I am transported back to the only car wreck I was ever in where I totaled my
first car (a Toyota Corolla) when an old steel Ford truck turned in front of me
at a 4 way stop while I was on my way to my math tutor’s house.
There are
many more like this, but to be honest, I don’t always remember them until I
hear them, which is mostly in my car on the way to work or back, but it is
funny how it truly does “transport” you to another time and place. I LOVE that
about music! Don’t you?
