How are you
more likely to make an important decision — by reasoning through it, or by
going with your gut?
A
combination of both. I feel a little Déjà
Vu on this one, like I’ve already explained it before.
Ahhh…there
it is, in my blog for March 15, 2015. And
I quote:
“Most of the
time, routine and planning work well for me, but I also like a little
laissez-faire spontaneity in my life.
Without a measure of routine and planning, life can become too chaotic,
but it’s important to just go with the flow now and again and take off on an
adventure.”
Even though
the topic was am I routine or spontaneous, it still applies here. I make decisions based on my “pros and cons”
list as well as my gut. What does my
heart say? What does my God say? What
does my husband say? J What about my children? How does it affect
them? And my career, our lifestyles, how will it be changed and is it for the
better or for the worse? This is not a
hard prompt for me because we just recently made a life changing decision to
leave our island home and come back to the states, so I still remember quite
clearly how it was done. My gut and my
heart had been telling me for awhile that it was almost time to move on, but
the job had not materialized, and the situation with my children was not yet
settled, so once both those things came to pass (which is the reasoning and planning part-had to make sure they were
taken care of and that we were able to take care of them), it was all about the
heart and gut and being willing to go with the flow and take off on a new
adventure!
What about
you? How do you make those life-changing decisions?

I'm following your posts, Susannah, and enjoying your thoughts. Happy to heard that following your gut was the right thing to do. It was for us, too. Jude
Thanks, Jude! I enjoy seeing your pictures and posts on FB as well. Looks like life in the states is agreeing with you both. Good to hear from you! :-)
